9/18/17 Things To Ask Alexa: Musical Alexa Edition

Welcome to LME’s 9/18/17 Things To Ask Alexa: queries and statements to try on Alexa for a funny, unexpected or informative response. This week the focus is on Alexa’s musical talents.

Taste In Music

First, some news: it seems arrival of the Echo 2.0 may be imminent, because as of this writing the current model Echo is listed as “currently unavailable” on Amazon’s US site and it’s deeply discounted on Amazon’s UK site. Between this and the new Alexa-integrated Fire TV, might Amazon be about to roll out a whole suite of new Alexa devices? Stay tuned. You can bet I’ll be writing about them here.

Say the wake word followed by any of the statements or queries below.

Can you rap?

Can you autotune?

Can you yodel?

Can you whistle?

Sing Happy Birthday.

Sing In The Moonlight Tonight.

Sing The Ballad of the Broken S’More.

Sing Woohoo Technology / Sing Barbershop Quartet.
Same response to both of these requests.

Sing It’s Raining in the Cloud.

Sing the ABCs.

Sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame.
In case you missed it when I originally shared this one.

Alexa may know some other songs too, it seems like Amazon adds new ones pretty regularly. Ask Alexa to “sing a song” and see if she’ll come up with any new ones for you.
