As promised, here are some fun things to try on Alexa, based on movies and TV.
Alexa is a fan of Game of Thrones
“Alexa: winter is coming.”
“Alexa: what is the first lesson of swordplay?”
“Alexa: who is the Mother of Dragons?”
“Alexa: what happens when you play the game of thrones?”
…and a lot of other TV shows and movies, too!
“Alexa: what is the first rule of fight club?”
“Alexa: who ya gonna call?”
“Alexa: live long and prosper.” (multiple responses)
“Alexa: open the pod bay doors.”
“Alexa: would you like to play a game?”
“Alexa: here’s lookin’ at you, kid.”
“Alexa: show me the money.”
“Alexa: party on, Wayne.”
“Alexa: my name is Inigo Montoya.”
“Alexa: I want the truth.”
“Alexa: surely, you can’t be serious.”
“Alexa: I am your father.”
Props to Amazon’s Echo developers for building that extra little bit of cool into the Echo!

The Amazon Fire TV Streaming Stick: If developer scuttlebut (and the past tech development history of Amazon) is to be believed, it’s only a matter of time before the Fire TV Streaming Stick and Box can be controlled by the Echo. But even if it turns out to be a pipe dream, in my opinion the $39 Fire TV Stick is the best streaming solution for anyone who’s heavily invested in the Amazon content ecosystem (like me) because accessing Amazon video, music and photo content is much more seamless and far less prone to connectivity issues and buffering gaps than when accessing that content via a Roku or Google Chrome stick.
